Prep School Pioneers is the latest exciting addition to our already wonderful nursery. Prep School is for those children in their final transitional year before they go to school and holds a heavy focus on school readiness and key skills. This includes developing listening and attention skills, self care skills, understanding routines, supporting independence as well as further developing maths and literacy knowledge.
Prep School has many similarities to Pre-School and our routine is very much focused around children’s choice as we are very passionate about play-based learning and believe children’s most valuable learning opportunities come through purposeful play. However, this is slightly more structured with focussed learning times in order to prepare children for their time at school.
The Prep School environment is very similar to the other well-planned rooms within our nursery, with defined learning zones for children to access freely; such as the construction area, role play, sand and water. We have more tailored resources for our Prep School Pioneers which support their understanding and enhances their learning opportunities, including an exciting interactive whiteboard.
We have teacher-led learning times with maths and phonics sessions as well as weekly sessions of Forest School and PE. Our Pioneers also enjoy a weekly French lesson. The Pioneers look smart and clever in their Kids Country uniform to support them in the preparation for their next step to ‘big school’.
During their final year at Kids’ Country, we hope to support your child in becoming a confident, inquisitive and enthusiastic learner who is ready for the next stage of their early education.
“Emma is so enthusiastic and helps to encourage the little ones’ imaginations. The children love her Forest School sessions! Becca was my daughter’s Key Person for 2 years and I have nothing but praise for the way she looked after and educated her. She is fabulous!” – Abbie’s mummy
